We hope you're one of the 900 delegates that we're expecting to be at Rider University in
June 2010. On this page you will find some relevant links that we try to prepare all
delegates with prior to their arrival each June.
Only high school juniors are eligible for the American Legion Jersey Boys State Program.
Each delegate is sponsored by an American Legion post throughout the state of New Jersey, however
not all posts send a representative. Each post conducts the delegate application process itself.
As a result, you should contact your high school and/or local American Legion post to see if your post
sponsors delegates to ALJBS. In most cases, American Legion posts will contact you as a result
of teacher/counselor recommendation and they will have a seperate interview process to
determine who they will sponsor to our annual program. You will then receive information
from the American Legion Department Headquarters in Trenton, NJ with information and forms about ALJBS.
You will also receive information regarding County Orientation meetings that delegates and
alternates are required to attend - these meetings give some more detailed information for
you, the delegate on what to expect at ALJBS and the remainder of the orientation process.
These meetings usually provide a Question and Answer period either during the public meeting
or you can ask questions after an orientation meeting.
This ALJBS website will hopefully be a key point of reference for you and your family as
you prepare for the session. We aim to post as much relevant information to ease your
orientation to ALJBS. If there is a question that you cannot find an answer to on our site,
you can always
email the webmaster
