What is a News Feed?

A RSS (really simple syndication) news feed is basically a marked-up (in XML) text file that a program reads to display news or information about a website. Websites from ESPN.com to CNN.com and many in between provide a RSS news feed so that their news headlines can be delivered in another medium over the internet. Popular homepages such as Google, provide the ability to customize your homepage and add these RSS feeds (see your associated homepage for specific information on how to add a feed). Even though American Legion Jersey Boys State is not an extremely active news website, placing our feed out there will allow you to see when new content or features (such as the Staff Spotlight) are added to our page. As we approach the June session each year, you can expect more updates and articles to be generated by our Technology Team.
